Future of Apple

Apple demonstrated the next version of Mac OS X, version 10.6, codenamed 'Snow Leopard', on June 8, 2009 at WWDC. 'Snow Leopard' will run only on a Macintosh computer with an Intel processor, the older Macs that use PowerPC processors cannot run Mac OS X "Snow Leopard". This next release of the Mac OS X operating system is designed to focus on performance and stability and not heavily include many new features as in the previous versions of the operating system.

Apple also released details of the new iPhone 3G, which includes Assisted GPS and the 3G data standard for fast mobile speeds. The initial release of the 3G iPhone was on July 11, with the handset getting released to 22 countries, with around 50 more that were announced and released later.

The new iPhone that was previewed on June 9, 2008 at their annual WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference), also features the new iPhone OS, version 3.0, which was released for free to current iPhone owners and as a US$9.95 upgrade for iPod Touch owners.

The new iPhone was released at a maximum price for the 8 GB version at US$199 with a contract / data plan.
